Warm Weather Trends: Wide-Leg Pants

Hello my lovelies,
While it might be easy to focus on the unknown during this time, I’m choosing to focus on the things I do know! Summer is coming and I’m here for it! One of my favorite trends for the warmer months is wide-leg cropped pants. I have so many, it's kind of embarrassing! They can be a bit tricky to style, so I’ve created a couple looks for inspiration!

This floral wide-leg pair is a great entrance piece into the trend, plus they're super soft and comfortable. The paperbag style waist already draws the eye to the smallest part of your torso, so I try to wear fitted tops to further accentuate my waist. I always get compliments when I wear this pair—people love happy clothing! Sadly, this pattern is no longer being sold, but a similar pair can be found here.
When I know I’m going to be running errands or spending time with friends I try to wear some form of slip-on tennis shoe. No one likes having sore feet! Wide-leg pants can hit at an awkward spot so a lower cut shoe that shows a bit more ankle is going to elongate your leg. You can spend a bit more and buy real Vans, or find a much cheaper dupe like this one.
Throw on a jean jacket with this outfit and you are good to go! I generally find mine at Gap or Old Navy.

If patterns seem a little intimidating, you can always rock a solid pair! These green pants were only $1 at Goodwill during a weekend sale. I prefer to wear them with a belt to give the outfit a bit more polish. This crushed velvet belt really ties in the colors of the floral lace shirt (which was gifted to me). My sweater was on clearance for $5 at Old Navy and the flats were around $6 from Cotton On, making this entire wide-leg look less than $15!

You can also wear denim wide leg pants like these if you're more into a classic style. They look fantastic with a white button down shirt and sandals. I haven't found the perfect pair yet to add to my collection, but they're on my list!
It's possible I have too many “fancy pants”—I even own a pair of LACE wide-leg pants from Zara! What can I say? If they have pockets, it’s hard for me to resist! Similar options to mine can be found here or here.
Wide-leg pants can be worn to work, date night, or on the couch while you watch Netflix during quarantine. =) I hope you are encouraged to try out this fun trend! What other fashion trend are you most looking forward to as the weather is getting warmer?
xoxo,
