Tiptoeing Into Spring

Hello my lovelies!

It’s been so long since I posted anything, I almost forget how! =) Between a new job, living situation, and even country (Hello USA!) life has a become a little crazy! I have missed coming up with new material, so I have started so many different posts, only to let them sit there on my computer, never to see the light of day.

My baby sister convinced me that I could fit in a few new posts this spring and summer, so hopefully I will have a bit more content than the past six months. =) Sometimes encouragement is really all you need.

As a Midwest girl, this time of year is kind of an “Eeyore” season. The first day of Spring can’t come around fast enough! The weather is not quite warm enough for sleeveless and bare legs, and it is too depressing to wear bulky sweaters all the time. No one wants to look like an Oompa Loompa for this many months out of the year! Enter—the TRANSITIONAL pieces! Thin knit sweaters, long sleeve tops with fun details, and ankle booties in unexpected patterns or colors are all items of clothing that can liven up the March blahs.

This outfit is head-to-toe Old Navy; one of my favorite brands for inexpensive basics, as well as trendier pieces. And, life hack? These gold glittery booties are actually from the kids section! If you’re a ladies 6.5-8 you can often find fun shoes for less in the kid’s department of stores like Old Navy, Target and Payless! These were less than $4 during the Christmas clearance sale! They also come in a glittery pink/purple too! Check out your local Old Navy to see if they’re available if sparkling is your thing. =)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, wine colored items are my weakness! There’s something about how the deep color pops against your skin and the small dots on this $3 blouse are a fun yet subtle addition. Plus, I’m a sucker for “fluffy” sleeves. Blame it on my obsession with historical fashion, or my flair for the dramatic, but they make you feel like a medieval princess. Knight in shining armor is optional. =) This specific style is no longer available online, but this option is very similar and less than $7!

These jeans have Lycra in them so they fit magically! Think Spanx for your entire leg! I was looking for a dark wash jean with a higher waist line and these fit the bill perfectly. I purchased mine in a tall for prime cuff-ability, but they come in a variety of lengths and washes.

Have a great week!

Xoxo,

Heidi Joy
