Chambray is Bae

Hello my lovelies,
One of my all time favorite pieces for the spring season is a chambray shirt. They’re so comfortable, and they can be easily dressed up or down. And, if your new year’s resolution was to save money in your clothes budget, you can often find super cute options at thrift stores or lower price point stores like Walmart or Target. I bought my favorite chambray shirt at a local thrift store for only 99 cents (40 pesos)! I can wear it with anything (and if you know me well....you know that I do =))
If you are only planning on purchasing one chambray shirt, I would suggest a darker wash that buttons (or snaps) up the front. That way you can wear the shirt open on top of dresses or blouses in lieu of a sweater, or on its own buttoned up. A shirt without any embellishments or extra detailing is going to be the most versatile.

This shirt can be found at Walmart for less than $10/500 pesos in light and dark washes. The simple chest pockets aren’t distracting, and you can easily add a scarf or statement necklace when needing it dressed up. I like it paired with patterned shorts when I’m going for a more casual look. Who can resist shorts with seahorses on them? =) These Old Navy shorts are from last spring, but this pineapple pair or this anchor pair aren’t far behind in the cuteness factor. This time of year stores are bringing out their tropical “Spring Break” lines so take advantage of the sales. Check for coupons or cash back so you’re using your resources wisely!

Add a simple pair of flats or sandals, and your outfit is complete! Beachy waves and fun earrings are optional. =)
Xoxo
Heidi
