These Boots Are Made For Walking

Hello my lovelies,
A fashion trend that’s been hitting the streets the past few seasons is ankle boots! From summer style peep-toes to blue velvet suede, this look doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon!
While I was in Korea this past December, I bought a super cute pair of ankle boots in the subway station for only $12.50/620 pesos! They’re a light taupe color with black stretch inserts on the sides. The stretchy material helps keep your jeans or leggings smoothly tucked in, and it’s easier to get your foot into the shoes. The black back zipper also helps with wearability. While they aren’t the same quality as a pair from Steve Madden or ASOS, they’re very comfortable, they look great, and I didn’t have to spend very much. Similar styles can be found at Elia B. and Kurt Keiger.

Prices for a nice pair of ankle boots (or booties) can range from $120 at Aldo to $45 from Old Navy to $25 from Forever 21. Always look for coupons online before you shop retail; stores can drag you in when you're not fully prepared and you might not get the best deal for your buck. Sites like Retail Me Not give lists of in-store and online coupons for most major retailers, and even a few small town stores.

Like the Nancy Sinatra song, these shoe styles are “made for walking;” they are great for everyday wear. I wore mine to a holiday party and was comfortable all evening! When looking to purchase practical booties, look for a pair with a stacked or wedge heel. The wider the heel, the more support for your feet.
Another fun thing about booties is the wide range of colors and designs. You don’t have to stick to neutrals but can compliment your fashion looks with fun cut-outs, playful colors, or a combination of both.
This Nordstorm pair has cut-outs galore (Just don’t wear them in the summer or the tan lines will be unreasonable =)), and these blush booties are giving me all the shoe envy! If only money wasn’t an issue….=)
