Perfectly Purple

Hello lovelies,

Since I was a little girl, purple has been one of my favorite colors. From lilac to blackberry, the many shades of purple are gorgeous! Known as the “color of royals”, purple can be worn for any occasion!

While I was shopping at a multi-family garage sale recently, I was super excited to find this sheer purple sleeveless blouse (for less than a dollar)! I knew it could easily be dressed up or down, and the light fabric would be great for 90 plus degree days!

The black peter-pan collar is vintage-inspired, and the lace-up keyhole back shows a peep of skin! I love the girly silhouette, and I have several skirts and pants that would nicely compliment the green, blue and white pattern. It is always important to be able to picture a few styling ideas (accessories, shoes, other ensemble pieces) when contemplating a new wardrobe purchase. Do you REALLY need that super cute Hawaiian-print skirt that will stay in your closet for months until you can think of some top to pair with it? Will those highly impractical shoes really benefit you in the long run?

This doesn’t mean you should never buy “fun” clothes, but make smart purchase decisions! Pair your crazy shoes with a basic black look, or wear a basic grey v-neck with that patterned skirt! Don’t be a fashion hoarder with tons of unworn pieces! Smart choices will leave you with more money and a more versatile wardrobe.

For this light summer look, I styled this purple top with a pair of high-waisted shorts from American Eagle (a $2 garage sale find). My black flats are from Payless (gifted) and they’re so comfortable! A pair of purple earrings completes the outfit! Perfect =)
