Back at it Again with the Boyfriend Jeans

Hello my lovelies,
A big trend this season, boyfriend jeans are both comfortable and cute. Looser in the hips and fitted around the waist, boyfriend jeans can be worn in a multitude of ways! They can be dressed up with a flowy blouse and heels, or dressed down with a pair of canvas tennis shoes and a graphic tee. Most pairs have purposeful rips and tears in the thigh and knee area, so wearing a longer tunic can make the look more polished.

Made to feel pre-loved, boyfriend jeans are a great option to buy at a consignment or thrift store. Nothing beats a pair of lived-in jeans. :) If you’re not very hippy, you can even wear kids jeans sometimes. This is a cheaper alternative, even if you buy them brand new! I’m wearing a girl’s size 16 (normally a ladies’ 2/4). The only necessary alteration was rolling up the cuffs to an appropriate ankle-skimming length.

I chose to pair my boyfriend jeans with a white and china blue printed blue Forever 21 blouse, thrifted for 200 pesos/$5. Blue china print tops and dresses are another spring trend. I love this shirt from Nordstrom and this Charlotte Russe dress.

Since I wanted to be comfortable, I went with a pair of Target flats. The shiny dark red goes well with the blue print. Red pumps or wedges would also look stylish. A similar outfit could be worn for a Memorial Day or Fourth of July picnic, combining flag colors without being overstated.
Earring studs, a quick swipe of mascara, bright lipstick, and you’re good to go!
Xoxo
