Sunny Days

Hello my lovelies,
I can’t be the only one who is ready for warmer weather, longer days and the return of the sundress?! This thrifted Merona sundress has a floral tribal pattern (which is very IN right now) and is perfect for the upcoming onslaught of graduation parties, barbeques, and girls-night-outs! It’s light, breezy and hides any evidences of a food baby. :) By adding a jean jacket, a staple that has crossed the fashion generations, the dress transitions well from spring to summer. A-line or wrap sundresses are flattering on virtually all body types and can be found in almost any clothing store, at any price point I’ve linked up some similar sundresses here and here.

If you, like me, are on the shorter side, pairing a sundress with high-heeled shoes is a great option. But if you’re going to be outside in softer (read muddy) grass, opt for wedges! Wedges eliminate any sinking and you don’t have to worry about ruining your nice heels. I went with nude pumps from Payless for this dress, but any bright colored pump or wedge would look good as well. Just remember that eyes naturally go to the brightest color in your ensemble, so if you don’t want to accent your legs, go with a neutral colored shoe.

With such a simply cut dress it’s okay to add some fun accessories! My purple crystal earrings from New York and Company pick up the blue in the dress and my eyes. Sparkly or wooden bangles, chandelier earrings and a cross-body bag would complete this look fabulously! Old Navy and Target have good options for accessories and always have sales running.

Makeup and hair should stay clean and classic, since no one wants to be worrying about looking too “done”! A simple braid or half-up, half-down up-do keeps your hair out of your face, and light brown or black liner and nude lipstick pull the look together.

Hope this look gives you some new spring/summer wardrobe ideas!
Xoxo
